I am starting to learn g banjo but I have immediately run into the very basic problem of firmly fitting the finger picks onto arthritic fingers. My first joints are enlarged which means the finger ends are shaped something like a truncated cone.I am going to try sticky tape to build up the ends as an experiment but I would welcome any suggestions you can offer. Many thanks.
A good site to order finger picks off of is Janet Davis Music. Here is the link to their website. (http://www.jdmc.com/)
I don’t know if this style of picks would be helpful, I have a pair and they ride just after the first bend in my index and middle finger, so that might be one way to solve your problem. (http://www.jdmc.com/product/2014.html)
You could also try adjusting your current picks with a pliers to fit your fingers. Best of luck! Let me know how it turns out.
